I am writing to express my enthusiastic interest in the Assistant Professor position in Philosophy at your esteemed institute. My name is Rasleen Kour, and I have done my Ph.D. in Philosophy in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, India. My area of expertise lies in the philosophy of technology, particularly in postphenomenology. In my doctoral thesis, I developed the concept of Meaningful Engagement with Appropriate Technology (MEAT) to critically evaluate technological artifacts and their capacity to foster authentic, meaningful interactions with humans, while balancing social, cultural, and environmental values. This work has deepened my understanding of how technology shapes human values and society, which I am eager to bring into the classroom.

In addition to my research, I have a strong passion for teaching. I am comfortable teaching courses in Applied Ethics, a subject that I find increasingly relevant due to the ethical dilemmas posed by technological innovations. I am also proficient in teaching foundational philosophical courses (Indian and Western), including epistemology, metaphysics, and axiology, to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. I am committed to creating an engaging and inclusive classroom environment.

Furthermore, my commitment to academic excellence was recently recognized when I was awarded the Graduate Student Paper Award at the 2023 Society for Philosophy and Technology (SPT) conference (https://www.spt2023.org/cfp-submission). This recognition has motivated me to continue contributing to the field through both my teaching and research. I am excited about the opportunity to bring my expertise and passion for philosophy to your institution. Moreover, my active participation in numerous international conferences, including SPT 2021 (online), SPT 2023 (in-person), ESDIT 2022 (online), PHTR 2020 (online), PHTR 2022 (in-person), and IAPH 2022 (online), highlights my strong commitment to scholarly engagement. In addition to my research achievements, I have honed my leadership and organizational skills by coordinating and managing various academic events at IIT Ropar, including workshops, conferences, and seminars. These experiences have strengthened my ability to lead teams, manage projects, and ensure the smooth execution of academic initiatives.
