About Candidate

Dear Hiring Team,
Good day to you !
I am writing to express my interest in the Assistant Professor (Chemistry Teaching/Research) position at your institute. As someone passionate about education, possessing excellent organizational skills, and capable of connecting easily with students, I see this opportunity as an ideal way to continue my professional development.

I recently completed my postdoctoral research at the Research Centre for Natural Science, Budapest, Hungary. My research focused on designing and developing advanced materials for liquid and quasi-solid-state Li-ion and Li-sulfur batteries, utilizing biomass, domestic waste, and industrial by-products. Notably, I developed an organosulfur co-polymer-based cathode, a cathode additive material derived from biomass for Li-S batteries, as well as a carbon-sulfur-based catholyte, dry electrode, and solid polymer electrolyte for quasi-solid-state Li-S batteries. Additionally, I worked on recycling battery materials from spent car batteries, converting them into high-performance materials for solid-state Li-ion and Li-S batteries. Beyond my research, I have experience working collaboratively with research staff and teams to ensure project goals are met. Additionally, I have tackled challenges affecting research objectives and deadlines, written project proposals, and applied for external research grants.

My Ph.D. research, conducted under Professor R. Venkatesan’s Laboratory, India, was also focused on rechargeable batteries. My thesis centered on developing heterostructure-based electrode materials using MoS₂, carbon nitride, and silicon nitride for application in Li-ion and Li-S batteries. I am proficient in designing and synthesizing electrodes, solid electrolytes, and catholytes. I have experience using and maintaining atmosphere-controlled gloveboxes, assembling and testing full and half cells in various configurations, and conducting organic synthesis, nanomaterial synthesis, electrochemical studies, and photophysical studies. My expertise extends to both basic and advanced physicochemical and electrochemical characterization techniques. Furthermore, I am skilled in report writing, creating presentations, developing and refining hypotheses, and executing research plans while interpreting results.

Beyond research, I am passionate about teaching. I enjoy the challenge of not only guiding students academically but also supporting their overall growth. My commitment to education, particularly in urban settings, along with my enthusiasm for assisting students who may find chemistry and research challenging, uniquely qualifies me for this role. I am eager to contribute to Indian colleges and higher educational institutes in shaping the next generation of leaders.

Thank you for considering my application. I have attached my curriculum vitae for your review, which provides further insights into my teaching, research, and training experience. I would be delighted to meet in person to discuss my teaching philosophy and learn more about this opportunity. As a committed lifelong learner, I continually seek growth in my teaching approach and subject knowledge. I believe my prior education and unique skill set would make me a valuable asset to your institute. My referees would be happy to provide letters of recommendation to attest to my qualifications. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you
With kind regards,
Dr. Gnanavel

My research work aims increase the capacity, create and enhance the electrochemical active porous site with increased redox activities of Li-ion and Li-Sulfur batteries by developing MoS2 altered C3N4, Si3N4 based electrode materials. The findings of the present study has provided a significant insight into the properties of MoS2@C3N4, Si3N4@MoS2 composites, the increased capacity, reduced charge transfer resistance, controlled volume expansion and enhanced rate of the batteries. In addition, the dual applicability of the electrodes exhibits stable and potential performance, and investigated results show their tremendous importance to Li-ion and Li-Sulfur batteries.
