My name is Santu Prasad Jana, and I have recently completed my Ph.D. in Experimental condensed Matter Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. My doctoral thesis, titled “Effects of Non-Ideal Interfaces in MoS₂ Field-Effect Transistors and Possible Remedies,” focused on understanding how interface traps, defects, and surface dipoles influence bulk electronic transport and scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/S) in MoS₂ FETs on various substrates. We demonstrated the potential of using these traps and dipoles as a virtual gate for non-volatile memory applications. Additionally, I explored substrate and contact interface engineering strategies to enhance MoS₂ FETs performance. During my PhD I have done mechanical exfoliation and dry transfer of 2D materials , Raman spectroscopy, SEM, STM/S, EBL, and low-temperature electronic transport, fabricating random Josephson junction arrays on 2D materials potential qubit devices, led several projects independently, mentored undergraduate and graduate students.
