Job Description

Sherman Indian High School, under the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), is seeking qualified candidates for a teaching position in Art. This opportunity is for a full-time classroom teacher to instruct specialized art subjects at the middle or high school level, on or near the Reservation.

Key Responsibilities

As a Teacher (Art), your duties may include:

Minimum Educational Requirements (Pay Level-Based):

  • Pay Level 11: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Pay Level 12: Bachelor’s + 15 graduate semester hours
  • Pay Level 13: Bachelor’s + 30 graduate semester hours
  • Pay Level 14: Master’s Degree
  • Pay Level 15: Master’s + 15 graduate semester hours
  • Pay Level 16: Master’s + 30 graduate semester hours
  • Pay Level 17: Earned Doctorate

Applicants must meet state certification requirements where the position is located. Provisional contracts will be issued to out-of-state certified candidates, requiring them to obtain full certification within two contract terms.

Education

  • Transcripts must be legible and from an accredited institution.
  • Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
