About Candidate
My name is Dr. Debojyoti Kundu, I want to apply for the position of Assistant Professor in Physics. I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (ICTS-TIFR), Bangalore, in the Condensed Matter and Statistical Physics Group, and hold a Ph.D. in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics from the Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence (SNIoE), Delhi-NCR. With close to ten years of research experience in areas such as Quantum Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Computational Physics, Statistical Physics, Random Matrix Theory, Quantum Chaos, and Network Theory, I bring both depth and breadth of expertise to contribute to the growth of the department.
My current work focuses on non-Hermitian systems and open quantum systems, with particular interest in chaotic–MBL transitions, skin effects in higher-dimensional settings, and many-body scarring in complex models. These studies aim to uncover mechanisms that are not only of theoretical value but also hold promise for quantum memory, information processing, and scalable quantum simulations.
I also carry significant teaching experience. During my Ph.D. at Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, I taught for nine semesters as a Teaching Assistant, handling both theory and laboratory courses in physics and B.Tech. I am confident in teaching a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate subjects, including quantum mechanics, statistical physics, condensed matter physics, and advanced experimental physics, while integrating computational methods with tools like Python, Mathematica, and MATLAB.
Alongside research and teaching, I have a strong background in organizational, administrative, and leadership roles, which I am eager to bring into this position. I would be excited to contribute to this environment by building an active research group, mentoring students, and developing courses that connect core physics with computational and statistical methods.
My CV is attached for your consideration. I would be happy to provide any additional information you may need. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my research and teaching interests align with the Institution.
