Qualification Criteria:
- Master’s Degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in a relevant subject from an Indian university or an equivalent degree from a recognized foreign university.
- Candidates must have cleared NET/SET conducted by UGC/CSIR or similar tests.
- Ph.D. holders are exempted from NET/SET, subject to compliance with UGC 2009/2016 regulations and amendments.
Ph.D. Exemption Conditions (pre-July 11, 2009 enrollment):
- Degree awarded in regular mode
- Thesis evaluated by at least two examiners
- Conduct of open viva voce
- Publication of two research papers (at least one in refereed journal)
- Presentation of two papers in conferences/seminars sponsored by recognized bodies like UGC/ICSSR/CSIR
OR
- Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked in the top 500 by:
- Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)
- Times Higher Education (THE)
- Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU)
