Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, invites online applications from eligible candidates for the positions of Librarian and Superintending Engineer. The recruitment is on a tenure/deputation basis for five years.

Post Details

1. Librarian

• No. of Posts: 01 (UR)
• Pay Scale: Academic Pay Level-14 (₹1,44,200 – ₹2,18,200) as per the 7th CPC.
• Mode of Recruitment: Deputation/tenure basis for five years or until the age of superannuation (62 years), whichever is earlier.
• Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
  2. Ten years of experience as:
     • Librarian in a university library, OR
     • Teaching as Assistant/Associate Professor in Library Science, OR
     • College Librarian.
  3. Evidence of innovative library services, including ICT integration.
  4. Ph.D. in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation/Archives and Manuscript Keeping.
• Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the university library system.
  • Plan and manage library acquisitions.
  • Provide bibliographic guidance to researchers.
  • Develop library management programs to enhance efficiency.
  • Oversee financial and administrative correspondence related to the library.

2. Superintending Engineer

• No. of Posts: 01 (UR)
• Pay Scale: Pay Level-13 (₹1,23,100 – ₹2,15,900) as per the 7th CPC.
• Mode of Recruitment: Deputation/tenure basis for five years or until the age of superannuation (60 years), whichever is earlier.
• Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  1. BE/B.Tech. in Civil or Electrical Engineering with at least 55% marks.
  2. Ten years of regular service as Executive Engineer or equivalent in Pay Level 11 or above in government/autonomous bodies/PSUs/universities.
• Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee engineering projects and original works of the university.
  • Manage the university’s engineering department.

General Conditions for Jawaharlal Nehru University Recruitment for Librarian and Superintending Engineer:

1. Age Limit:
   • Librarian: Preferably below 57 years.
   • Superintending Engineer: Preferably below 56 years.
2. Application Fee:
   • ₹1000 for Gen/EWS/OBC (non-refundable).
   • No fee for SC/ST/PwD and women candidates (attach requisite certificates).
3. Relaxation:
   • 5% relaxation in marks for SC/ST/PwD categories and university employees as per UGC guidelines.
4. Submission of Application:
