The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) invites applications for a full-time English Language Arts Teacher at Father Gamache Memorial School located in Fond Du Lac, Saskatchewan. Organization Profile
The ADEA serves three Denesuline First Nations communities in northern Saskatchewan: Black Lake First Nation, Hatchet Lake First Nation, and Fond Du Lac First Nation. With approximately 1,400 students, ADEA integrates Denesuline culture into modern classrooms, promotes holistic child development, and pilots progressive educational programs using the latest technology.
Job Title:

Position Description:
The successful candidate will:
- Create an enthusiastic, project-based learning environment
- Support a culturally inclusive classroom aligned with Denesuline values
- Deliver lessons aligned with Saskatchewan Curriculum
- Provide individualized learning support for student development
- Collaborate with families, staff, and the broader community
- Participate in professional development and school events
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet all learners’ needs
- Establish a positive learning climate reflective of Denesuline culture
- Maintain clear assessment records and provide timely feedback
- Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and PD sessions
- Support student well-being across physical, emotional, and academic areas
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Patient, flexible, observant, and passionate about education
- Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of Saskatchewan Curriculum and assessments
- Knowledge of Effective Practices, Policies, and Guidelines
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to engage with diverse communities
- Confidentiality in handling student and professional information
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent
- Post-secondary diploma in English Language Arts or related field (asset)
- Eligible for or possess a valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate
- Experience in remote or First Nations communities (asset)
- First Aid Certification (asset)
