Job Description

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, has released a notification inviting applications from qualified candidates for the post of Guest Teacher in the Department of Mathematics & Biochemistry, Faculty of Life Sciences. Eligible and interested candidates can apply both online and through postal submission.

• Emoluments: Rs. 1,500 per lecture (maximum Rs. 50,000 per month)

Essential Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the relevant subject from an Indian or accredited foreign university.
• Candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC/CSIR or an equivalent test accredited by the UGC (like SET).
• Ph.D. holders (as per UGC 2009/2016 regulations and amendments) are exempted from NET/SET.

Additional Ph.D. Exemption Conditions (for pre-2009 registrations):

1. Ph.D. degree awarded in regular mode.
2. Thesis evaluated by at least two examiners.
3. Open Ph.D. viva conducted.
4. Two research papers published from Ph.D. work (at least one in a refereed journal).
5. Two papers presented in UGC/ICSSR/CSIR-funded conferences or seminars.

Certification of the above must be provided by the Registrar or Controller of Examination.

Note:

• NET/SET is not required for disciplines where these tests are not conducted by UGC/CSIR.
• Ph.D. obtained from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 globally (as per QS, THE, or ARWU rankings) is also eligible.
