MIET, Jammu

Model Institute of Engineering and Technology was established in 1999. It is the first and only autonomous and NAAC “A” Grade accredited engineering institution in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The latest details of our institution are provided below:

1) About MIET: Setup in 1999, Part of MIER Group, J&K’s oldest private educational enterprise since 1936.

2) Accreditation status: MIET is the only institute in the State of J&K to be accredited with “A” Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The National Board for Accreditation (AICTE) has also accredited the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The institution is also ISO 9001:2008 certified.

3) Permanent Affiliation: It is affiliated to the University of Jammu, since 1998-99.

4) Academic Performance: Overall pass percentage > 80% (best in the University)

5) Faculty: 120+ faculty members, 25 PhD’s, 10% faculty with industry-experience, 20% with more than 10 years of experience.

6) Research and Development: 62 patents filed and 980+ research papers published by faculty in last few years. Two IT products incubated on campus. Research MoUs with University of Missouri-Kansas City, USA and University of Arad, Romania. Publish the International Journal of Next-Generation Computing (IJNGC) – one of India’s leading computer science journals. In-house Center for Software Development with product incubation.

7) Infrastructure: 22,000 sq.m built-up area, 45 acre campus, 500 networked computers, state-of-the-art labs, over 40,000 books and access to IEEE, Springer journals.

8) Industry Linkages: Strong Industry collaborations-Mitsubishi Electric, CISCO, COURSERA, Amazon, UiPath Google Cloud, Infosys, Microsoft, Oracle Academy, NVIDIA & Bentley and IBM Skills.
