Job Description
Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sri City, Chittoor (IIITS) – an Institute of National Importance established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India – has released a notification for Junior Lecturer (on contract) positions. Located in Andhra Pradesh, about 70 km from Chennai, IIITS offers BTech programs in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), and Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AI & DS), along with PhD programs.
Position: Junior Lecturer (on contract)
IIIT Sri City is looking for passionate professionals to assist faculty members in delivering high-quality instruction and managing academic activities.
Educational Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related fields (M.Sc. IT, CS, or MCA), OR
- Bachelor’s degree in CSE/ECE/IT or similar with minimum 3 years of experience, OR
- B.Sc. (IT / CSE / Data Science / Biotechnology) with a minimum 5 years of experience
- Preference for candidates with prior experience teaching basic courses.
Technical Skills Required:
- Programming Languages: C, C++, Python, Java
- Hardware Knowledge: Digital Logic, Signal and Systems, Embedded Systems
- Course Management: Setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting lab/classroom environments
- Software Tools: IDEs, Git, debugging tools
- Operating Systems: Linux, Windows
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and instructional abilities
- An analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Efficient organizational capabilities
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
- Certifications in programming, electronics, or teaching methodologies
- Adaptability to emerging technologies
- Collaborative work ethic with faculty and support staff
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist faculty in teaching core undergraduate courses (70+ students)
- Evaluate assignments and quizzes; help conduct exams
- Take attendance, invigilate exams, and support supplementary sessions
- Contribute to academic research, especially in TA roles
- Develop educational aids using programming tools
Job Nature & Remuneration:
- Type: Purely temporary, contract for 11 months (extendable based on performance)
- Start Date: Immediate
- Location: Sri City, Andhra Pradesh
- Age Limit: Not more than 45 years as of July 1, 2025
- Compensation: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
