Job Title:
- Elementary School Teacher (Grade 1–5)

Position Description:
The successful candidates will:
- Create a supportive, inclusive, and enthusiastic learning environment
- Promote learning using project-based methods and culturally responsive instruction
- Incorporate Denesuline culture and language into lessons
- Foster student engagement, academic growth, and social development
- Develop lesson plans aligned with the Saskatchewan Curriculum
- Encourage parental involvement and family engagement in student success
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear instruction that supports a culturally grounded, positive classroom
- Foster peer interaction, school routine familiarity, and foundational learning
- Maintain an organized classroom ready for student engagement
- Provide regular student assessments and document learning progress
- Encourage family-school partnerships
- Be aware of and manage student allergies and health needs
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, listening, empathy)
- Understanding of early childhood education tools and assessments (EYE, Prekindergarten Essentials, etc.)
- Familiarity with holistic child development (emotional, physical, intellectual, spiritual)
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and community involvement
- Ability to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders
- High degree of professionalism and confidentiality
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent
- Eligible for or currently holding a valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate
- Experience teaching in First Nations or remote communities (asset)
- First Aid Certification (asset)
- Relevant training or prior experience in education (asset)
