About the Institution

Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering & Technology (GKCIET), Malda, West Bengal, was established in 2010 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, under the mentorship of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Durgapur.

The institute was founded in memory of Sri A. B. A. Ghani Khan Choudhury, who contributed immensely to the development of the region. Situated in Malda, GKCIET serves the bordering districts of Bihar, Jharkhand, and the North-Eastern states.

The institute’s mission is to create a multi-layered, interdisciplinary, and industry-oriented technical workforce. GKCIET aims to provide quality technical education from the grassroots to higher levels and to empower women, school dropouts, and underprivileged sections through various skill-based programs.
