Job Description

Gurugram University, Haryana, has released a notification inviting applications from eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Professor. These positions are on a contract basis under the Self Finance Scheme with a consolidated salary of Rs. 57,700/- per month.

The appointment is purely contractual for the academic session 2025–26 or until the end of the teaching term/regular appointment, whichever is earlier.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification (A or B)

A. Master’s Degree + NET/Ph.D.

  • A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the concerned/relevant subject.
  • Must have cleared UGC/CSIR NET, SLET/SET, or hold a Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations (2009/2016).
  • Candidates registered for Ph.D. before July 11, 2009, will be considered if:
    • Ph.D. awarded in regular mode.
    • The thesis is evaluated by at least two external examiners.
    • Open viva conducted.
    • Two research papers published (at least one in a refereed journal).
    • Two papers presented in conferences/seminars funded by UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or similar bodies.

B. Ph.D. from Foreign University

  • Ph.D. degree from a recognized foreign university in a relevant discipline, ranked among the top 500 in World University Rankings by QS, THE, or ARWU.

Candidate Profile

  • UG/PG in the relevant discipline with a strong academic background.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring students.
  • Strong research record and publication profile.
