Part-Time ASL Lecturer at Columbus State University

Position Description:

The Department of Modern & Classical Languages seeks a qualified part-time lecturer to teach Elementary and Intermediate American Sign Language courses. The selected candidate must be willing to follow a coordinated program structure, comply with departmental teaching standards, and engage in select professional development activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach American Sign Language at various proficiency levels
  • Participate in teaching-related meetings and training
  • Utilize Online Learning Management Systems for course delivery
  • Contribute to departmental goals and language education quality

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in American Sign Language and/or literature
  • Native or near-native fluency in ASL
  • Experience using Online Learning Management Systems

Preferred:

  • MA in American Sign Language and/or literature
  • Classroom experience in higher education settings

Compensation:

$3,000.00 per class
