Eligibility Criteria for Teaching Positions
General Eligibility:
- Ph.D. with a first-class or equivalent in the preceding degree, with an excellent academic record.
- Additional criteria for each academic unit may apply.
Experience Requirements:
Assistant Professor Grade I:
- Minimum of 3 years of post-Ph.D. experience in teaching, research, or professional work (excluding Ph.D. duration).
- Demonstrated research capabilities through publications.
Assistant Professor Grade II:
- Candidates who meet all criteria for Assistant Professor Grade I, except post-Ph.D. experience, may be appointed as Assistant Professor Grade II.
- Once they meet Grade I experience, they will be promoted accordingly.
Associate Professor:
- Minimum of 6 years of post-Ph.D. experience (3 years at Assistant Professor Grade I level).
- Significant research output, publications in reputed journals, and Ph.D. supervision.
Professor:
- Minimum of 10 years post-Ph.D. experience (4 years as Associate Professor level).
- Demonstrated leadership in research, Ph.D. supervision, and an outstanding publication record.
IDC School of Design – Additional Criteria:
- A postgraduate degree in Design/Arts/Applied Arts/Engineering/Architecture/Humanities or equivalent is required.
- Candidates without a Ph.D. must have at least 8 years of teaching/research experience. Ph.D. must be obtained within 5 years of joining.
