Lamar Community College (LCC), located in Lamar, Colorado, is seeking applications for a full-time English Faculty position for the 2025 academic year. This is a 9-month teaching position. Position Description:
Under the direction of the Dean of Academic Services, this position includes:
- Teaching English Composition I and II and other related courses
- Advising students in degree programs
- Maintaining regular office hours and supporting student success
- Participating in new student orientation, faculty meetings, and academic committees
- Teaching in multiple delivery modes, including in-person, online (synchronous/asynchronous), hybrid, evening, and weekend classes
- Assisting with curriculum development, assessment, and program evaluation
- Engaging in campus, professional, and community activities
This role supports the goals of LCC and the Colorado Community College System and upholds all institutional, local, state, and federal guidelines, including FERPA and mandatory reporting.

Salary Range:
- $40,000 – $42,000 annually
- (Salary based on qualifications, internal equity, and market conditions)
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in English or a closely related field, or a Master’s in any discipline with at least 18 graduate credit hours in English
- College-level teaching experience in English Composition
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility to teach across subjects and delivery formats
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate or additional graduate coursework in English
- Experience teaching at a community college
- Familiarity with active learning and diverse teaching methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to support students from diverse backgrounds
- Experience developing student-centered programs that support retention and success
