Assistant Professor in Macroeconomics at St Olaf College

Position Description:

The department seeks candidates with a focus in Empirical Macroeconomics, with interests in areas such as:

  • Financial Economics
  • Labor Markets and Unemployment
  • Economic History
  • Big Data or Financial Data Analysis

The selected candidate will:

  • Teach intermediate macro theory, introductory and advanced econometrics (cross-sectional or time series), and field-specific electives
  • Conduct scholarly research and publish findings
  • Advise student research projects
  • Contribute to the college’s diverse and inclusive academic environment

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Ph.D. in Economics (completed by August 2026)

Preferred Areas of Expertise:

  • Macroeconomic labor markets
  • Financial data analysis
  • Economic history or Big Data methods

Salary:

$84,000 – $89,000 per annum (commensurate with experience)
