Assam University, Silchar has announced Guest Faculty recruitment on a temporary basis for teaching positions in colleges. Eligible candidates are invited to appear for a walk-in interview for the post of Guest Faculty in the Department of Chemistry.

• Chemistry Physical Chemistry

Qualifications:

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grading system) in a relevant subject from an Indian or accredited foreign university.
• Must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC, CSIR, or similar accredited test like SET. Candidates with a Ph.D. in accordance with the UGC regulations (2009 or 2016) are exempt from NET/SET, provided they meet certain conditions.

Ph.D. Exemption Conditions:

• Ph.D. awarded in regular mode.
• Thesis evaluated by two external examiners.
• Open Ph.D. viva conducted.
• At least two research papers published, with one in a refereed journal.
• At least two presentations at UGC/ICSSR/CSIR-sponsored conferences.

Ph.D. holders from foreign universities ranked among the top 500 in global university rankings by QS, THE, or ARWU are also exempt from NET/SET.

Candidate Profile:

• UG/PG degree in the relevant discipline with excellent academic records.
• Strong communication skills.
• Passion for teaching and guiding students.
• Good research record.

Job Location:

Pay Scale:

• Rs.1500/- per lecture with a maximum ceiling of Rs.50,000/- per month.
