How we handle and protect your information.

This policy explains what personal information Faculty Hub collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have, so you can use the platform with confidence.

1. Who We Are

Faculty Hub (“Faculty Hub”, “we”, “us”), GSTIN 06DKPPN0740G1Z4, of 311-L, First Floor, Near SBI Bank, Model Town, Karnal, Haryana 132001, runs the facultyhub.in website and related services, an academic jobs and community platform for teachers, institutions and students in India. We decide why and how your personal information is used, which makes us the “data fiduciary” under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. This policy is also published under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account details: name, email address, phone number and a password (stored only in hashed form).
  • Teacher profile: education, experience, subjects, location, job preferences, résumé, photo and any demo video you upload.
  • Employer details: institution name, contact person, contact phone, and the jobs you post.
  • WhatsApp number, if you use WhatsApp alerts or purchase notices.
  • Applications, messages, forum, community and tutoring posts, doubts and answer sheets you submit.
  • Anything you send through the contact form or by email.

Information collected automatically

  • IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited.
  • Log and security data, such as sign-in attempts, used to protect accounts and detect abuse.
  • Cookie and analytics data, only where you have accepted cookies (see Cookies below).
  • A record of when you accepted our Terms and this policy at sign-up.

Payments

Payments are handled by our payment partners. We receive the order, amount and payment status. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details.

3. How and Why We Use Your Information

  • To create and run your account and provide the services you ask for (job search, applications, hiring tools, tutoring, community).
  • To show your profile to employers and, where you apply, to share your application with that employer.
  • To send service messages: verification, security alerts, application updates, payment receipts and plan notices.
  • To send job alerts and purchase confirmations on WhatsApp, where you have provided your number and opted in.
  • To send newsletters or promotions, only with your consent.
  • To provide AI-assisted features you choose to use, such as résumé help and question-paper or answer-sheet grading support.
  • To keep the platform secure, prevent fraud and fake listings, and enforce our Terms.
  • To improve the platform, using aggregated usage data.
  • To meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We process your information based on your consent, to perform our agreement with you, or for other uses the law permits.

4. What Others Can See

  • Employers can see the profile details and résumé you apply with. Your profile may also be visible to employers on Faculty Hub according to your profile settings.
  • Posts and comments in public areas, such as the community and forums, are visible to other users.
  • Student answer sheets are kept in private storage and are accessible only to the people involved in that grading, and to authorised staff for support and security.

5. WhatsApp Messages

  • We use your WhatsApp number only for job alerts you subscribed to, and for notices about your own account and purchases.
  • We send messages through the Meta WhatsApp Business Platform, which processes them to deliver them to you.
  • We never sell your number or share it for others to market to you.
  • Reply STOP to any of our WhatsApp messages and we switch off all alerts and notices to that number. Reply START to switch them back on. You can also email us at the address below.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

  • Essential cookies and local storage keep you signed in and remember basic preferences. The site needs these to work.
  • Analytics (Google Analytics) and advertising (Google AdSense) cookies are set only after you accept them in the cookie banner. Ads are shown only to visitors and free users, never to paid members. For students, who may be under 18, we ask Google to treat the ads as child-directed, which turns off personalised and interest-based ads.
  • You can decline in the banner, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Some features may not work without essential cookies.

7. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with these kinds of service providers, and only as needed to run Faculty Hub:

  • Razorpay and Cashfree: payment processing (subscriptions and one-time purchases).
  • Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform): sending WhatsApp messages.
  • Doubleword AI: processing the content you submit to an AI feature, only when you use it.
  • Google (Analytics and AdSense): site analytics and advertising, with your cookie consent.
  • Agora: live audio and video for tutoring sessions.
  • Our email delivery provider: verification, alert and notification emails.
  • Our hosting and infrastructure providers: running and securing the service. Uploaded files are stored on our own servers.
  • Employers and other users, as described in What Others Can See.
  • Courts, regulators and law-enforcement authorities, where the law requires or to protect rights and safety.
  • A successor, if Faculty Hub is merged, acquired or sold, subject to the same protections.

Providers may process data outside India. We choose providers with appropriate safeguards and give them only what they need.

8. How Long We Keep Information

  • We keep account and profile data while your account is active.
  • When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (such as payment and tax records) or need to resolve a dispute or prevent fraud.
  • When a school’s account is deleted, the school’s public page, its job listings and its posts stay on Faculty Hub and are managed by Faculty Hub. The account holder’s own email, phone and WhatsApp details are removed from them. Posts and answers that teachers and students wrote in the sign-in-only community and forum areas are deleted with their accounts.
  • Read in-app notifications are removed automatically after 90 days.
  • Security and access logs are kept for 180 days, and some records for longer where a court, government agency or law requires it, even after you close your account.

9. How We Protect Your Information

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and role-based access controls.
  • Sign-in protections such as rate limits and lockouts against repeated failed attempts.
  • Private storage for sensitive uploads such as answer sheets.

No online service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal data we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires. Please keep your password private.

10. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and correct your information, most of it directly in your profile.
  • Ask us for a summary of the personal data we hold and who we share it with.
  • Ask us to erase your data and close your account.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, such as unsubscribing from emails or WhatsApp. This does not affect what was done before.
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to.
  • Complain to us first, and then to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied.

To use these rights, email us from your registered address. We may need to confirm your identity first.

11. Children's Privacy

  • Job search, hiring and paid services are for people aged 18 and over.
  • A person under 18 may sign up as a student only if a parent or guardian has agreed to our Terms and this policy on their behalf. Signing up as a student means you confirm that you are 18 or older, or that this consent has been given. We record the acceptance.
  • We may ask for proof of a parent or guardian’s consent, and we will close the account and delete the child’s data if it cannot be shown.
  • A parent or guardian can write to us at any time to see, correct or delete a child’s data, or to withdraw consent.
  • We never use a child’s data for personalised or targeted advertising. Ads shown to students are non-personalised.

12. Third-Party Sites

Our pages may link to other websites, and job posts may link to employers' own sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please read their policies.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when our services or the law change. We will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you by email or a notice on the site. By continuing to use Faculty Hub after a change, you accept the updated policy.
