Qualification:

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in the relevant subject from an Indian university or an equivalent degree from a recognized foreign university. Additionally, candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or an equivalent accredited test like SET.

Alternatively, candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in compliance with the UGC regulations (2009 or 2016) may be exempted from the NET/SET requirement, provided they meet the following conditions:

• The Ph.D. degree was awarded in regular mode.
• The Ph.D. thesis was evaluated by at least two examiners.
• The candidate completed an open Ph.D. viva voce.
• The candidate published at least two research papers from their Ph.D. work, with at least one in a refereed journal.
• The candidate presented at least two papers based on their Ph.D. work at conferences/seminars sponsored by recognized agencies.

Candidates who obtained their Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked within the top 500 by QS, THE, or ARWU are also eligible.
