The University of Chicago Laboratory Schools is inviting applications for a Computer Science Teacher (Middle/High School) as part of its recruitment drive. Job Summary
The selected candidate will join a dynamic Computer Science Department that delivers a comprehensive curriculum from grades 2–12. Instruction is held in state-of-the-art computer labs equipped with Apple devices, which are maintained and managed by departmental staff.

Key Responsibilities
- Teach computer science across multiple grade levels
- Collaborate with classroom teachers on interdisciplinary projects
- Contribute to vertical curriculum alignment for grades 2–12
- Promote the role and value of computer science within the school community
- Differentiate between device proficiency and deep computing knowledge
- Fulfill contractual responsibilities as outlined in the Faculty Association Agreement
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Educational Computing, or related field (required)
- Master’s degree (preferred)
- Coursework or degree content with multicultural focus (preferred)
Experience
- Minimum two years teaching experience in a K–12 setting (required)
- Experience developing curriculum (preferred)
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds (preferred)

Working Conditions

- May be required to assist students in transit within school premises
- Should be physically able to demonstrate computer science concepts when appropriate

Pay Range: $36,216.50 – $80,503.50 annually
