The University of Chicago Laboratory Schools is inviting applications for a Computer Science Teacher (Middle/High School) as part of its recruitment drive. Job Summary

The selected candidate will join a dynamic Computer Science Department that delivers a comprehensive curriculum from grades 2–12. Instruction is held in state-of-the-art computer labs equipped with Apple devices, which are maintained and managed by departmental staff.

Computer Science Teacher Position at University of Chicago Lab Schools

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach computer science across multiple grade levels
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers on interdisciplinary projects
  • Contribute to vertical curriculum alignment for grades 2–12
  • Promote the role and value of computer science within the school community
  • Differentiate between device proficiency and deep computing knowledge
  • Fulfill contractual responsibilities as outlined in the Faculty Association Agreement

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Educational Computing, or related field (required)
  • Master’s degree (preferred)
  • Coursework or degree content with multicultural focus (preferred)

Experience

  • Minimum two years teaching experience in a K–12 setting (required)
  • Experience developing curriculum (preferred)
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds (preferred)
