The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), established by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), Government of India, is located in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. Designated as an Institution of National Importance, it follows the prestigious lines of the IITs and is authorized to grant degrees independently. The Institute focuses on petroleum technology and energy, co-promoted by leading public sector oil companies, including ONGC, IOC, OIL, GAIL, BPCL, and HPCL, in collaboration with the Oil Industry Development Board. RGIPT partners with several international universities specializing in the field of petroleum and energy.

Eligibility Criteria for the RGIPT Director Position

Applicants for this teaching position should meet the following criteria:

• PhD with first-class or equivalent in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Geology.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Professor in a reputed educational institute, with a proven record of guiding PhD students.
• At least 5 years of administrative experience and demonstrated leadership in managing an institute of national importance.
• Candidates should preferably be below 60 years of age by the application deadline.

Salary & Benefits

• Fixed pay of Rs. 2,25,000/- per month, Pay Level-17 as per the 7th CPC.
• Additional allowances as applicable.

Contract Duration

The appointment will be on a contractual basis for five years or until superannuation, whichever is earlier. The retirement age is 70.
