Qualification Criteria
Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- A Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
- Must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC/CSIR or similar accredited tests like SET.
- Exemption from NET/SET is applicable for those who have been awarded a Ph.D. degree under UGC regulations of 2009/2016 and amendments thereof.
Conditions for NET/SET Exemption (for candidates registered before July 11, 2009):
- Ph.D. awarded in regular mode only
- Ph.D. thesis evaluated by at least two external examiners
- Conducted an open viva-voce
- Published two research papers from Ph.D. work (at least one in a refereed journal)
- Presented two papers in conferences/seminars supported by UGC/CSIR/ICSSR
- Ph.D. from a top 500 ranked international university as per QS, THE, or ARWU rankings
