Essential Qualifications:
Faculty – Ocean Engineering:
- Essential:
- 55% marks or equivalent grade at UG and PG level in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (UG) and Ocean/Coastal/Marine Structures/Harbour Engineering (PG).
- Desirable:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- Research publications as per UGC norms.
- Knowledge in offshore, dredging, coastal engineering, marine structural design, and environmental laws.
- Teaching or industry experience in ocean engineering.
- Exposure to Outcome-Based Education.
Faculty – Dredging Engineering:
- Essential:
- 55% marks or equivalent grade at UG and PG level in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (UG) and Ocean/Coastal/Marine Structures/Harbour Engineering (PG).
- Desirable:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- Research publications as per UGC norms.
- Expertise in dredging, harbour, coastal engineering, and familiarity with environmental laws.
- Teaching or industrial experience in dredging engineering.
- Exposure to Outcome-Based Education.
Faculty – Marine Engineering:
- Category 1 (Essential):
- Directorate General (Shipping) recognized MEO Class I (Motor) Certificate of Competency.
- Six months of sailing experience at the management level under STCW Convention.
- Category 2 (Essential):
- B.E./B.Tech in Marine Engineering with 55% marks and M.E./M.Tech in a relevant discipline.
- OR B.E./B.Tech with PGDME/GME approved by the Directorate General (Shipping) and M.E./M.Tech in a relevant discipline.
- Sailing experience of six months under STCW Convention.
- Desirable:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- Research publications as per UGC norms.
- Teaching experience in DG Shipping-approved training institutes.
- Exposure to Outcome-Based Education.
Faculty – Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding:
- Essential:
- 55% marks or equivalent grade at UG and PG levels in Naval Architecture, Ship Building, Ocean Engineering, or relevant combinations.
- PG level in Naval Architecture, Marine Structures, or related disciplines.
- Desirable:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- Research publications as per UGC norms.
- Expertise in ship design, repair, plan approval, and regulations.
- Teaching or industry experience in shipbuilding or related fields.
- Exposure to Outcome-Based Education.
Non-Teaching Positions:
Deputy Registrar:
- Essential:
- Master’s Degree with 55% marks.
- Five years of administrative experience in higher education or relevant government roles.
- OR Retired Group ‘A’ officer of Central/State Governments or Armed Forces with administrative experience.
- Desirable:
- Proven ability in administration and leadership in residential institutions.
- Experience in government procurement and establishment matters.
Senior Technician (Naval Architecture):
- Essential:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Ship Building Engineering approved by AICTE.
- OR B.Sc. in Ship Building & Repair from IMU.
- OR Petty Officer in Ship Wright from Indian Navy/Coast Guard.
Research Assistant:
- Essential:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 50% marks from a recognized university.
- Desirable:
- Knowledge of Information & Communication Technology.
