Qualification Criteria:

• Master’s Degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in a relevant subject from an Indian university or an equivalent degree from a recognized foreign university.
• Candidates must have cleared NET/SET conducted by UGC/CSIR or similar tests.
• Ph.D. holders are exempted from NET/SET, subject to compliance with UGC 2009/2016 regulations and amendments.

Ph.D. Exemption Conditions (pre-July 11, 2009 enrollment):

• Degree awarded in regular mode
• Thesis evaluated by at least two examiners
• Conduct of open viva voce
• Publication of two research papers (at least one in refereed journal)
• Presentation of two papers in conferences/seminars sponsored by recognized bodies like UGC/ICSSR/CSIR

OR

• Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked in the top 500 by: Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)
• Times Higher Education (THE)
• Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU)
