About the University
Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University was named in honor of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri following his demise. On October 2, 1966, former Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi assumed the Presidentship of the institution and renamed it Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha. The Government of India took over the Vidyapeetha on April 1, 1967. Later, on December 21, 1970, it became a constituent of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, an autonomous society, and was known as Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Kendriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha.

Educational Qualifications
