Institution Overview

To address industry demands and support the growth of India’s domestic IT market, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, has established twenty Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) on a Public-Private Partnership model. IIIT-Surat, initially mentored by SVNIT, is dedicated to advancing IT education and research until its own campus is fully established in Surat.

• Associate Professor
• Assistant Professor Grade-I
• Assistant Professor Grade-II

• Applied Science and Humanities (Physics and Mathematics)

Qualification Requirements

• Educational Requirement: Ph.D. in a relevant discipline with first-class standing in both undergraduate (B.Tech/BE or B.Sc.) and postgraduate degrees (M.Tech/ME or M.Sc.).
• Desirable Qualifications:
  • Minimum two published or accepted research papers in indexed journals (Web of Science or Scopus).
  • GATE qualification score.
  • Involvement in ongoing research projects.
  • Patents, consultancy experience, or revenue-generating activities.
  • Prestigious awards or fellowships.
  • Contributions to NPTL / SWAYAM initiatives.
  • Experience with industry collaboration.
  • Degrees from Institutes of National Importance or foreign universities.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates should:

• Hold a UG/PG in a relevant discipline with an excellent academic record.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and a passion for teaching and mentorship.
• Exhibit a solid track record in research.

Pay Scale

• Associate Professor – Level-13 A2 of the 7th CPC pay matrix.
• Assistant Professor Grade-I – Level-12 of the 7th CPC pay matrix.
• Assistant Professor Grade-II – Levels-11 and 10 of the 7th CPC pay matrix.
