Sri Sri University, Cuttack, Odisha, invites applications for the roles of ICSSR Research Assistant and ICSSR Field Investigator at the Sri Sri Centre for Translation and Interpreting Studies. These faculty recruitment 2024 teaching positions are open to eligible candidates with relevant expertise.
About the Organization
The Sri Sri Centre for Translation and Interpreting Studies was established on February 22, 2021, by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to promote translation and interpreting studies across India, aligning with NEP 2020 standards. Functioning under Sri Sri University, a state-private university founded under the Sri Sri University Act – 2009 by the Odisha State Legislative Assembly, this center emphasizes training in the fast-growing fields of translation and interpretation, including:
- Medical translation
- Community interpretation
- Heritage and legal translation
- Machine and Parliamentary translation
Sri Sri University commenced its academic journey in 2012, combining Eastern values with Western academic innovation. Accredited with a NAAC ‘A’ grade in 2023, the university offers a range of 43 courses across nine streams, with a strong emphasis on learning, leadership, and service. Currently, Sri Sri University hosts around 2,000 students from across 28 Indian states and 7 countries.
Position Details
1. ICSSR Research Assistant
- Project Title: Documenting Rūpa Tārakasi: Oral History of the Silver Filigree Artisans from Cuttack, Odisha
- Funding Agency: Indian Council for Social Science Research (ICSSR), VisionViksitBharat@2047 (VVB@2047)
- Essential Qualifications: Ph.D./MPhil/Postgraduate in relevant fields with a minimum of 55% marks.
- Desirable Skills: Experience in Rupā Tārakasi studies, knowledge of Odisha (especially Cuttack), proficiency in Odia and English, familiarity with SPSS/STATA, and data archiving.
- Duration: 7 months
- Stipend: ₹37,000 per month
- Location: Cuttack, Odisha

2. ICSSR Field Investigator
- Project Title: Documenting Rūpa Tārakasi: Oral History of the Silver Filigree Artisans from Cuttack, Odisha
- Funding Agency: Indian Council for Social Science Research (ICSSR), VisionViksitBharat@2047 (VVB@2047)
- Essential Qualifications: Postgraduate degree in Humanities or Social Sciences with a minimum of 55% marks.
- Desirable Skills: Background in ethnographical research and fieldwork in Odisha, skills in photography, video recording, and photo/video editing.
- Duration: 3 months
- Stipend: ₹20,000 per month
- Location: Cuttack, Odisha
