The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal invites applications for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in the Mechanical Engineering Department. This esteemed institute, recognized as one of India’s first NITs, is looking for qualified candidates for research on fuel level measurement and adulteration detection using ultrasonic sensors.

The National Institute of Technology, Warangal (formerly Regional Engineering College) was established in 1959, with its foundation laid by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Known for its excellent faculty and advanced infrastructure, the institute offers:

Research Position:

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

  • Project Title: Fuel level, property measurements, and adulteration detection using ultrasonic sensors
  • Sponsoring/Funding Agency: Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), INDIA
  • Department: Mechanical Engineering

Essential Qualifications

  • Education:
    • B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with a first-class degree
    • M.E/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Design, NDT, or allied specializations) with a first-class degree
    • Current second-year M.E/M.Tech students are also eligible to apply
  • Preferred Experience:
    • GATE score (preferred)
    • Dissertation or work experience in stress wave analysis, ultrasonic sensors, vibration, or allied fields
    • Willingness to work on fluid rheology, fuel properties, and adulteration detection

Desirable Qualifications

  • Knowledge in fluid rheology, fuel properties, and adulteration detection
  • Familiarity with ultrasonic wave applications in solids and fluids
  • Basic proficiency in FEM simulation software

Project Details

  • Duration: 3 years
  • Stipend:
    • ₹37,000/month for the first two years
    • ₹42,000/month in the third year, based on performance
  • Location: Warangal, Telangana
