The National Institute of Technology, Puducherry, was established by the Government of India under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi. This institute is part of the NIT system set up during the 11th Five-Year Plan and admits students through JEE (MAIN), with 50% of seats reserved for students from Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, Yenam, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Project Title:

• Design and Development of Flexible Solar Parabolic Dish Concentrator System with Variable Focal Length for Electrical Power Generation and Potable Water Production using TEG and Seawater

Funding Agency:

• Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF)
• Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB)
• Core Research Grant (CRG)

Department:

• Mechanical Engineering

Qualifications:

• B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical, Energy, Chemical, or Aeronautical Engineering
• M.E. / M.Tech. in Thermal Engineering, Solar Energy, Renewable Energy, Energy Engineering, or any allied stream
• First Class Degree in either B.E. / B.Tech. or M.E. / M.Tech. is mandatory

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in developing experimental setups related to solar energy
• Proficiency in heat transfer, thermal engineering, and software tools like CFD – ANSYS Fluent and COMSOL Multiphysics

Duration of the Project:

• 3 years

Job Location:

• Karaikal, Puducherry (UT)

Salary:

• ₹37,000 + 8% HRA for the first two years as JRF
• ₹42,000 + 8% HRA for the third year as Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
