Eligibility Criteria for Non-Teaching Job:
Essential Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Library Science, Information Science, or Documentation Science with at least 55% marks (or equivalent).
- Good academic record and knowledge of library computerization.
- NET/Ph.D. Requirements:
- Cleared UGC NET/CSIR NET or an equivalent accredited test (SLET/SET).
- Alternatively, candidates with a Ph.D. as per UGC regulations (2009 or 2016 amendments) may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET. Ph.D. candidates registered before July 11, 2009, are exempt if they meet the following:
- Ph.D. awarded in regular mode.
- Thesis evaluated by two external examiners.
- Open Ph.D. viva voce conducted.
- Published at least two research papers (one in a refereed journal).
- Presented at least two papers based on Ph.D. work in UGC/ICSSR/CSIR-sponsored conferences.
- Exemptions:
- NET/SLET/SET not required for Master’s programs where such tests are not conducted.
Experience:
- Relevant experience in managing digital libraries, e-resources, and institutional repositories is preferred.
Selection Process:
- Written Examination (100 MCQ-type questions, 400 marks).
- Part-I: 30 Questions on concepts, practices, and regulations related to higher education institutions.
- Part-II: 70 Questions on digital library management, e-resources, research metrics, and ethics.
- Total Duration: 2 Hours (additional 45 minutes for PwBD candidates).
- Negative marking: 1 mark per wrong answer.
- Cutoff: 50%.
- Interview: Candidates shortlisted based on the written test will be invited for an interview. Final selection is based on interview performance.
