Organization Profile

NIEPMD, under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, has been at the forefront of empowering persons with disabilities since its inception. The institute conducts awareness programs, research & development, provides assistive devices, and facilitates livelihood opportunities for persons with disabilities (PwD). Established in response to the United Nations Decade of Disabled Persons (1982-1992), NIEPMD continues to serve diverse categories of disabilities.

Job Title:

Associate Professor (Deputation Basis)

Departments Available:

• Medical Science
• Speech Pathology and Audiology

Qualifications:

Medical Science:

1. MBBS with Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation, Neurology, Orthopaedics, ENT, or Ophthalmology with MCI registration.
2. Minimum 8 years of experience in teaching, clinical practice, or research in an academic/research institution or industry, equivalent to the role of Assistant Professor/Lecturer.

Desirable:

• Ph.D.
• Experience guiding research scholars, involvement in extension and outreach activities, work with Persons with Multiple Disabilities, and published research in reputed journals or presentations at national & international conferences.

Speech Pathology and Audiology:

1. Minimum 5 years of service as an Assistant Professor in Speech Pathology and/or Audiology.
2. Proven academic and research achievements demonstrated through quality publications, educational innovations, curriculum design, and outreach activities.
3. Consistently strong performance appraisal reports.

Job Location:

Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Pay Scale:

Pay Level -12 of the Pay Matrix of 7th CPC
