The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur has announced a Research Fellow Recruitment 2025 notification for the position of Project Associate-I in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.

Organization Profile

National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, formerly known as Regional Institute of Technology, was established on August 15, 1960, as a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Bihar. It was among the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) created under India’s Second Five-Year Plan (1956–1961) to produce high-caliber technical graduates capable of leading technological development in the region.

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification:

  • B.Tech./B.E. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (MME) or Mechanical Engineering (ME) or equivalent with minimum 65% marks or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale and one year of experience
    OR
  • M.Tech. in MME/ME or equivalent with a CGPA above 6.5

Desirable Qualification:

  • Experience in:
    • Literature, market, and industry data collection
    • Performance assessment surveys related to chromate conversion coatings on aluminium and aluminium alloys

Project Details

  • Duration: 3 months or until project completion (whichever is earlier)
  • Fellowship: ₹32,000/- per month (consolidated)
  • Job Location: NIT Jamshedpur, Jharkhand
  • Interview Date (Tentative): April 14, 2025
