Part-Time Geography Lecturer Position at University of California

Position Description:

UCLA is seeking qualified candidates for Lecturer positions with specializations in:

  • Biogeography
  • Physical Geography
  • Human-Cultural Geography

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Teaching undergraduate courses as assigned
  • Conducting regularly scheduled office hours
  • Preparing, grading, and evaluating student assessments
  • Supervising teaching assistants and course readers

Lecturers may be appointed on a quarterly basis depending on departmental needs. Applicants may be called upon at short notice to fill unexpected teaching assignments.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Ph.D. in Geography or a closely related field (by the date of hire)
  • Proven record of effective undergraduate teaching
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Salary Range:

As per UC Salary Table 15, a reasonable estimate for this teaching position is $68,247 to $72,404, depending on qualifications and experience.
