Walk-in-Interview for Teaching and Non-Teaching Positions
PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ooty, Tamil Nadu is conducting a walk-in interview on 09.03.2025 to fill teaching and non-teaching vacancies on a contractual basis for the academic year 2025-26. The vacancies include Primary Teachers (PRT), Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT), Post Graduate Teachers (PGT), and other roles.
Teaching Positions & Eligibility Criteria
Primary Teacher (PRT)
Essential Qualifications:
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
- Qualified CTET (Paper-I) conducted by the Government of India
- Proficiency in Hindi & English teaching
Desirable:
- Knowledge of computer applications
Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) – English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Maths, Science, Social Science
Essential Qualifications:
- Four-year Integrated Degree from NCERT’s Regional College of Education with at least 50% marks OR
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks in the concerned subjects.
Subject-Specific Requirements:
- TGT (Sanskrit, Hindi, English): Subject studied in all three years of graduation
- TGT (Social Science): Any two subjects – History, Geography, Economics, or Political Science (one must be either History or Geography)
- TGT (Mathematics): Bachelor’s in Maths with any two subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Science, or Statistics
- TGT (Science): Bachelor’s in Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry
Additional Requirements:
- Pass in CTET (VI to VIII) conducted by CBSE
- B.Ed. (or equivalent)
- Proficiency in Hindi & English teaching
Desirable:
- Knowledge of computer applications
Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) – English, Hindi, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Commerce, Economics
Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks OR
- Two-year Integrated Postgraduate M.Sc. Course from NCERT’s Regional College of Education
Subject-Specific Requirements:
- PGT (English, Hindi, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Commerce, Economics) – Degree in respective subjects
- PGT (Biology): Degree in Botany, Zoology, Life Sciences, Bio Sciences, Genetics, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or Plant Physiology, provided Botany and Zoology were studied at the graduation level.
Additional Requirements:
- B.Ed. or equivalent
- Proficiency in Hindi & English teaching
Desirable:
- Knowledge of computer applications
PGT (Computer Science)
Essential Qualifications:
- B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science/IT OR
- M.Sc. (Computer Science)/MCA OR
- B.Sc. (Computer Science)/BCA with a Postgraduate degree in any subject
Additional Requirements:
- Proficiency in Hindi & English teaching
Computer Instructor
- B.E./B.Tech. (Computer Science), BCA/MCA, M.Sc. (Computer Science) OR
- Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Science/Mathematics with a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Applications
Other Positions
- Special Educator – Diploma/B.Ed. in Special Education
- Tamil Language Instructor – Bachelor’s degree in Tamil with B.Ed. and CTET qualification
- Nurse – Degree/Diploma in Nursing (Registered with MCI or Nursing Council of India)
- Art Instructor – Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts with proficiency in English & Hindi
- Student Counselor – B.A./B.Sc. (Psychology) with a Diploma in Counseling
- Yoga Instructor – Graduation in any subject + Postgraduate degree in Yoga
- Sports Coach – B.P.Ed. with specialization in Football, Kabaddi, Badminton, TT, Cricket, Athletics, Basketball, or Volleyball
- Martial Arts Coach – Black Belt in Karate/Taekwondo/Judo
How to Apply
Interested candidates should follow these steps:
- Attend the walk-in interview on 09.03.2025 at PM SHRI KV Ooty.
- Report at 8:00 AM with:
- Duly filled the application form (Download from the official website)
- Recent passport-size photo
- Original and photocopies of all certificates and mark sheets for verification
- Candidates applying for multiple positions must mention them in their application but appear for the interview as per the schedule.
Important Notes
- The interview is only for contractual/temporary posts for 2025-26.
- CTET-qualified candidates will be given preference.
- A Preliminary Screening Test may be conducted.
- Candidates must be proficient in Hindi & English teaching.
- No canteen facilities are available, so candidates should be prepared accordingly.
