The Population Research Centre, University of Kashmir, Srinagar invites applications from the domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir for the following research investigator and field investigator positions under faculty recruitment 2025.

Available Positions

1. Research Investigator

• Number of Posts: 02 (01 UR, 01 SC)
• Post Code: UR – PGD-PR-2 | SC – PGD-PR-3
• Pay Level: Level 6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400)
• Eligibility:
  • Must be a domicile of UT of J&K.
  • Minimum second-class Postgraduate Degree in Demography, Population Studies, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Anthropology, or Geography.
  • Knowledge of computer applications.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in data collection, analysis, and report writing (relaxable for candidates with higher qualifications).

2. Field Investigator

• Number of Posts: 01 (UR)
• Post Code: PGD-PR-4
• Pay Level: Level 6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400)
• Eligibility:
  • Must be a domicile of UT of J&K.
  • Minimum second-class Postgraduate Degree in Demography, Population Studies, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Anthropology, or Geography.
  • Knowledge of computer applications.
  • Experience: Some experience in data collection and analysis.

General Instructions

• Age Criteria (as of 01-01-2024):

    • 43 years for SC/ST/RBA/EWS/LAC/PSP/Social Caste candidates.
• Allowances:
  • Eligible for D.A., Medical Allowance, House Rent, and other benefits as per University rules.
  • Contributory Provident Fund/NPS and gratuity applicable.
• Additional Notes:
