Job Title:

Research Associate

Azim Premji University is seeking a Research Associate to work on research projects exploring how urban transformation has impacted common pool resource management in the North-East region of India.

Employment Type:

• Temporary position for one year

Job Location:

• Bengaluru, Karnataka

Requirements:

• Qualification: A degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Sustainability, Social Sciences, or related fields from a recognized university.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of one year of field and research experience.
  • Experience in conducting fieldwork, especially with local communities.
  • Prior experience with data collection, collation, and basic analysis.
  • Proficiency in English and Nagamese (knowledge of other local languages of Nagaland is a plus).
  • Familiarity with the local culture and traditions of Nagaland is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Research Associate, you will:

• Conduct a comprehensive literature review related to the project.
• Engage with local communities, conduct interviews, and facilitate focus group discussions.
• Compile, transcribe, and analyze field data.
• Prepare manuscripts and draft articles based on the research findings.

Pay Scale:

• Salary as per university norms.
