Essential Qualifications

  1. Candidates must possess a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a recognized foreign university.
  2. Additionally, candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or an equivalent accredited test, such as SET. Ph.D. holders, in accordance with UGC regulations, are exempted from NET/SET.
  3. Candidates registered for a Ph.D. program before July 11, 2009, must meet specific conditions to be exempt from NET/SET. For Ph.D. degrees obtained from foreign institutions, the university must be ranked within the top 500 globally by QS, THE, or ARWU.
