Qualification and Experience

Candidates should possess the following:

  1. M.Sc. in Forensic Science with 55% marks or equivalent. Forensic Biology must have been part of the degree from an Indian or accredited foreign university.
  2. Cleared NET (National Eligibility Test) by UGC, CSIR, or similar test (SLET/SET). Exemption applies to Ph.D. holders under specific conditions outlined below.

Ph.D. Exemption Criteria

  • Ph.D. candidates registered before July 11, 2009, and fulfilling conditions such as:
    • Award of the Ph.D. in regular mode
    • Evaluation by two external examiners
    • Open viva-voce
    • Publication of at least two research papers, one in a refereed journal
    • Presentation of two conference papers

The fulfillment of these criteria must be certified by the Registrar or Dean of Academic Affairs.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Ph.D. in the relevant field
  2. Ph.D. obtained from a top 500 ranked foreign university in QS, THE, or ARWU rankings.
