Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, a premier public engineering institution, invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals (from India and abroad) for faculty recruitment 2025. The institute seeks qualified candidates for Assistant Professor Grade-I and Grade-II and Associate Professor positions in various departments for the academic year.

VNIT Nagpur, formerly known as Regional College of Engineering, Nagpur (REC) and Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE), is one of the top engineering institutes in India. Established in June 1960, it has consistently ranked among the best fifteen engineering colleges in the country and is named in honor of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.

Qualifications Required

For Assistant Professor Grade-II

• Ph.D. in the relevant or equivalent discipline.
• First class in the preceding degrees.

For Assistant Professor Grade-I

• Ph.D. in the relevant or equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 3 years after Ph.D. or 6 years total experience in teaching/research/industry.
• First class in previous degrees.
• Contributions to administration (as per institute norms).

For Associate Professor

• Ph.D. in the relevant or equivalent discipline
• First class in all preceding degrees is mandatory
• 06 years post-Ph.D. experience, including 3 years as Assistant Professor at Pay Level 12 (AGP 8000)
  OR
• 09 years total experience, with at least 3 years post-Ph.D. and 3 years at Assistant Professor level (AGP 8000)

Note:
For faculty positions in Architecture, M.Arch. or M.Plan. with 1 year of professional experience is required for Assistant Professor.

Pay Scale

• Assistant Professor Grade-II: Level-10 / AGP ₹6000 (Entry Pay ₹70,900)
• Assistant Professor Grade-I: Level-12 / AGP ₹8000 (Entry Pay ₹1,01,500)
