Position Description:

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering engaging, standards-based instruction to middle school students with special education needs
• Using data to differentiate instruction and monitor student growth
• Participating in collaborative planning with teaching teams
• Practicing restorative and inclusive classroom management
• Supporting a college-preparatory learning environment

Ideal candidates should be:

• Self-directed and reflective educators
• Willing to engage in curriculum planning and responsive lesson design
• Open to learning and implementing culturally responsive pedagogy

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or completion of a teacher certification program
• New York State teacher certification in Special Education (or eligibility)

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in Education
• Teaching experience in a middle school or urban school setting

Salary Range:

$44,000 to $61,000 per year (based on certification, degree, and experience)
