Position Description:
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering engaging, standards-based instruction to middle school students with special education needs
- Using data to differentiate instruction and monitor student growth
- Participating in collaborative planning with teaching teams
- Practicing restorative and inclusive classroom management
- Supporting a college-preparatory learning environment
Ideal candidates should be:
- Self-directed and reflective educators
- Willing to engage in curriculum planning and responsive lesson design
- Open to learning and implementing culturally responsive pedagogy
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or completion of a teacher certification program
- New York State teacher certification in Special Education (or eligibility)
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Education
- Teaching experience in a middle school or urban school setting
Salary Range:
$44,000 to $61,000 per year (based on certification, degree, and experience)
