About the Organization
IIM Shillong was established with a mission to deliver high-quality management education and research in the North-Eastern region of India. The institute’s inception was finalized during a review meeting in June 2004, attended by the Union Minister of Human Resource Development and the Chief Ministers of North Eastern States. Shillong was chosen as the permanent location after consultations with the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DONER).

Qualifications and Experience for IIM Shillong Faculty Recruitment:
1. Professor
- Qualification: Ph.D. in the relevant field with first-class or equivalent in the preceding degree and a strong academic record.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years in teaching/research/industry.
- At least 4 years at the Associate Professor level in institutions like IIMs, IITs, IISc, IISERs, or equivalent.
- Excellent credentials in research, training, and consulting.
2. Associate Professor
- Qualification: Ph.D. in the relevant field with first-class or equivalent in the preceding degree and a strong academic record.
- Experience:
- Minimum 6 years of experience, with at least 3 years at the Assistant Professor level.
- Ability to engage with diverse student bodies and conduct independent research.
3. Assistant Professor Grade-I
- Qualification: Ph.D. in the relevant field with first-class or equivalent in the preceding degree and a strong academic record.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years in teaching/research/industry (exclusive of Ph.D. period).
- Exceptional candidates with no experience may be considered on a contractual basis.
4. Assistant Professor Grade-II (On Contract)
- Qualification: Ph.D. in the relevant field with first-class or equivalent in the preceding degree and a strong academic record.
- Note: This is a contractual position aimed at young Ph.D. graduates to gain teaching experience in premier institutions.
Candidate Profile
- UG/PG in the relevant discipline with a good academic record.
- Strong research background.
- Passion for teaching and guiding students.
- Excellent communication skills.
