Job Description
Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur, has released a notification for recruitment for Assistant Professor positions on a contractual basis. The university invites online applications from eligible candidates for faculty jobs across its various departments, schools, colleges, and specialized centers for the academic session 2025–2026.

Departments Offering Positions
A. Faculty of Humanities – Languages
Includes subjects such as English, Hindi, Marathi, Urdu, French, Pali & Prakrit, Linguistics.
B. Faculty of Humanities – Social Sciences
Subjects include History, Political Science, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Ambedkar Thought, Gandhian Thought, Public Administration, and Travel & Tourism.
C. Faculty of Science & Technology – Sciences
Subjects include Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Computer Science, Electronics, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Molecular Biology & Genetic Engineering, Statistics, and Home Science.
D. Faculty of Commerce & Management
Positions in Business Management (Finance, HRM, Analytics) and Commerce (Accounting, Law, Economics).
E. Faculty of Inter-disciplinary Studies
Fine Arts, Library Science, Physical Education, Mass Communication, PG Education.
F. University Centres of Specialized Studies
Includes Centre for Buddhist Studies, Sericulture & Pest Management, and RTM Adhyasan Kendra.

Reservation Details
As per Government of Maharashtra guidelines:
- Categories covered: SC, ST, OBC, VJ(A), NT(B/C/D), SBC, SEBC, EWS, OPEN
- Posts reserved for PwD: 5 out of 110
Eligibility Criteria
General Qualifications (All Disciplines except otherwise specified):
- Master’s degree with 55% marks in relevant discipline
- NET/SET qualification or Ph.D. as per UGC norms
- Ph.D. holders (pre-2009) must fulfill specified criteria for exemption from NET/SET
For Business Management:
- Bachelor’s + Master’s in Business Administration/PGDM/M.Com/CA/ICWA (First Class)
- 2 years of post-Master’s professional experience
For Fine Arts:
- Master’s in a relevant field with 55% OR
- Traditional/Professional artist with evidence of recognized achievements
For Pharmaceutical Sciences:
- B.Pharm + First Class Master’s in relevant specialization
- Must be a registered pharmacist
Note:
Relaxation of 5% in marks for reserved category candidates. The maximum age limit is 59 years.
