Qualifications:

The minimum educational qualification for the Assistant Professor position adheres to UGC (2018) regulations and the G.R. of the Government of Maharashtra (Dt. 08 March 2019). The candidate must have:

• A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in the concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
• In addition to these qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR or similar tests accredited by the UGC, such as SET. Alternatively, candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. degree as per the UGC regulations (2009/2016) are exempted from the NET/SET requirement.

Important Notes on Ph.D. and NET/SET Exemption:

• Candidates who registered for the Ph.D. program before July 11, 2009, are exempt from the NET/SET, provided they meet specific criteria outlined in the UGC regulations.
• The Ph.D. must have been awarded in regular mode.
• The Ph.D. thesis must have been evaluated by at least two examiners.
• The candidate must have presented research at conferences and published papers from their Ph.D. work.

Candidates who fulfill these conditions must have their qualifications certified by the Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs) of the concerned university.

OR

• Candidates with a Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 in the World University Rankings (QS, THE, or ARWU) are also eligible.
