IIT (BHU) Varanasi is a prestigious public technical and research university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Originally established in 1919 as Banaras Engineering College, it became the Institute of Technology under Banaras Hindu University in 1968 and was later designated as an IIT in 2012.

Qualifications & Experience
Associate Professor
- Ph.D. with first class or equivalent in the relevant field
- Minimum 6 years post-Ph.D. experience in teaching/industry/research
- At least 3 years as Assistant Professor Grade-I (Level 12) or equivalent
- Proven research record including:
- M.Tech/Ph.D. guidance
- Peer-reviewed publications
- Patents or laboratory/course development
Professor
- Ph.D. with first class or equivalent in the relevant field
- Minimum 10 years post-Ph.D. experience in teaching/industry/research
- At least 4 years as Associate Professor in IITs/IISc/IIMs/IISERs or comparable institutes
- Strong leadership in research with:
- Ph.D./M.Tech supervision
- High-impact publications and/or patents
Pay Scale
- Associate Professor (Level 13A2): ₹1,39,600/-
- Professor (Level 14A): ₹1,59,100/-
Probation Period: 1 year (regular appointment)
Reservation: As per Government of India norms, including EWS and PwD categories
