Adjunct Assistant Professor in Mathematics at Cosumnes River College

Position Description:

As an Adjunct Faculty member, responsibilities include:

  • Teaching mathematics courses under the supervision of the area dean
  • Supporting students in achieving course learning outcomes
  • Staying current in the teaching field and participating in professional development
  • Using modern technology for course delivery
  • Participating in college committees, curriculum review, and student activities
  • Maintaining high standards of professional conduct and ethics
  • Assisting with articulation and course development

Course assignments may include:

  • Math 300: Introduction to Mathematical Ideas
  • Math 333/33: College Algebra for Liberal Arts
  • Math 372/72: College Algebra for Calculus
  • Math 373/73: Trigonometry for Calculus
  • Stat 300: Introduction to Statistics

Start Date: On or about August 21, 2025
Work Schedule: To be determined. May include day, evening, weekend, online, hybrid, and/or off-campus hours.

Salary Information:

  • Hourly Pay Range: $42.92 – $104.52
  • Initial placement depends on degree level and related experience in accordance with the Los Rios College Federation of Teachers contract.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics
    OR
  • Bachelor’s in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics and Master’s in Statistics, Physics, or Mathematics Education
    OR
  • Equivalent academic preparation or professional experience
  • Must demonstrate an equity-minded focus and sensitivity toward diverse academic, cultural, and socioeconomic student populations
