The University of Kashmir, Srinagar, invites applications for Associate Professor positions under its faculty recruitment notification. Established in 1948, the University of Jammu and Kashmir was later bifurcated in 1969 into two full-fledged institutions:

• University of Kashmir, Srinagar
• University of Jammu, Jammu

The University of Kashmir, located at Hazratbal, is renowned for its picturesque surroundings, with the Dal Lake to the east and the Nigeen Lake to the west. The main campus spans 247 acres, offering an inspiring environment for teaching positions.

Qualification Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

1. A Master’s Degree in one of these fields with at least 55% marks:
   • Demography/Population Studies
   • Statistics/Economics
   • Mathematics/Sociology
   • Psychology/Anthropology
   • Geography
   Note: Candidates with post-graduate degrees other than Demography/Population Studies must have completed a minimum one-year course in Demography/Population Studies at a recognized institution/university.
2. A Ph.D. degree in the above-mentioned subjects.
3. A strong academic record with published research related to health, preferably aligned with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s (MoHFW) schemes and programs.
4. A minimum of 8 years of teaching or research experience, equivalent to an Assistant Professor, with:
   • Seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
   • A total academic/research score of at least 75 as per UGC Guidelines, July 2018.

Pay Scale

Level 13A: ₹1,31,400 – ₹2,17,100 per month (plus allowances as per rules).

6. Pay the application fee of ₹1,050 online. (PwD candidates are exempted).

1. Download the completed application form and attach:
   • Auto-numbered enclosures.
   • Online payment acknowledgment.
2. Send the application via Speed/Registered Post to:
   Office of the Recruitment Section,
   New Admin Block,
   University of Kashmir,
   Hazratbal, Srinagar – 190006, J&K.
3. Super-scribe the envelope with:
   • “Application for the post of …”
   • Post ID
   • Advertisement notice number and date.
4. Ensure the hard copy reaches by 31st January 2025. Applications received post-deadline will be rejected.
