Organization Profile

Pondicherry University (PU) is one of the most renowned central universities in South India, located in Kalapet, Puducherry. Established by an Act of Parliament in 1985 under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, the university has the Vice President of India as its Chancellor. The Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry serves as the Chief Rector, and the President of India is the Visitor of the University.

Qualifications

  • As per UGC regulations for the regular Assistant Professor.
  • Candidates should have an M.Sc. in Statistics with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale where grading system is followed).
  • Preference will be given to Ph.D. holders in Statistics.

Duration

Engagement of the selected Guest Faculty will be for the academic year 2024-2025 or until the appointment of regular faculty, whichever is earlier.

Pay Scale

Honorarium of Rs. 1,500 per lecture (subject to a maximum of Rs. 50,000 per month).
