IIITDM Kurnool is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. It is fully funded by the central government and mentored by IIITDM Kancheepuram, Chennai. The institute began its academic operations in 2015 and is currently developing its permanent campus on 151 acres of land allocated by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in Kurnool.

Candidates should meet one of the following criteria:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field
- M.Tech or MBA with Ph.D.

Pay Structure
- Adjunct Professor: ₹40,000 per credit (up to a maximum of 10 credits per semester, with a minimum of 20 students per course)
- Visiting Professor: ₹1,00,000 per month
